Instant Shrimp and Grits

Ingredients

Instant grits

1/2lb peeled shrimp

Cajun seasoning (I used Emeril’s)

½ cup Whipping cream

Sweet apple chicken sausage

4 garlic cloves

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ smoked Gouda

Fresh parsley

Bottle of wine

Steps

  1. Leave shrimp in plastic bag, if your shrimp didn’t come in a plastic bag use any plastic bag you have, you are going to fill this bag with olive oil and the Cajun seasoning, I used a lot you can use as much as desired. You will take the bag from the top and spin it like the people at the pet store when you buy a fish do when they put the fish in the bag, shake the shrimp in the bag until well covered

  2. Use a cheese grater and grate about ½ a cup of the smoked gouda

  3. Cut 4 cloves of garlic up small or you can use the cheese grater and grate the garlic, put in the same bowl as the smoked gouda cheese

  4. Cut up chicken sausage and sauté in pan until golden brown ( I like mine well done)

  5. Sauté shrimp in separate pan or you can bake the shrimp which is what I did 350 until a little more than pink

  6. For instant grits follow instructions on box, when the grits are done add the ½ cup whipping cream, ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese and ½ cup smoked gouda cheese with the garlic stir all together.

  7. Plate grits on a plate, top with the chicken sausage and shrimp and garnish with parsley tada it looks like it took you all day!

  8. The wine is because you will need a glass after grating all that yummy cheese, you’re welcome

So this recipe is something that I would consider comfort food, it’s very heavy so if you are in need of something that will make your eyes light up and tummy say howdy this is the recipe to make. If you are looking for portion control which is how I plate my meals this isn’t soooooo bad I used more shrimp and chicken sausage than grits. I also baked my shrimp instead of pan frying. This recipe is great for a rainy night inside and all the comfort of home.
